1967
Founder Islam Shalaby launched his first company and formed a successful publishing joint venture with global leaders Doubleday (USA) and Kodansha (Japan). He was also the creative force behind the Cairo Book Fair, which is now the most important fair of its kind in the Middle East.
1978
ITC entered the hotel sector with a joint venture with the Swiss Nova Park Group, leading to the creation of two five-star hotels that introduced Egypt’s first multi-international franchise restaurants.
1980
The company diversified into catering with a joint venture with the Abella Group to serve the petroleum and railway sectors. In 1985, it established free-zone warehouses in Port Said to serve as a logistics hub between Europe and the MENA region.
1990
Following Egypt’s reopening of imports, ITC became the exclusive agent for major international food and beverage brands, including Hershey’s, Hunt Wesson, and Campbell Soup. The company expanded its retail franchise operations to nearly 100 stores, along with a food processing factory. In 1997, ITC joined the Kharafi Group for the real estate and tourism development of what is now known as Port Ghalib on the Red Sea
2000
ITC established the EDC Egyptian Danish Bakery Production factory and opened the Sheraton Royal Gardens Hotel. The company also began importing and distributing restaurant equipment and partnered with international brands like Trianon, Inakaya, and Segafredo
2005
ITC expanded its investment portfolio with ventures in real estate and securities, including Calerton Holding and Dislon Securities LLC. The company also continued to add new international food and beverage franchises to its portfolio, such as Popeyes and Carnivore

1999 - EDC Egyptian Danish Bakery Production:
EDC is a bakery and food processing-production factory that is being constructed following highest international standards, in Azizia zone, 6th of October City. The factory is well equipped with the most professional equipment to guarantee best quality of bakery and food production.
2000 - Sheraton Royal Gardens Hotel:
A luxury oasis with 5 acres of land and 225 Luxury Rooms, Conference Room seating 800 people, Trader Vic’s, Inakaya, Senor pico .. a selection of luxury restaurants developed with Trader Vic’s group of San Francisco.
2000 - Trianon:
| Trianon – a first class cafe, brasserie and bakery-is considered one of the oldest bakeries in Europe and has been officially appointed to the Royal Danish Court. In partnership with the ITC Group, Trianon first opened doors in Cairo in 2000. Such was its success that today there are branches throughout the countries in prime locations with many more on the way. |
2004 - Inakaya:

2004 - ITC Import Restaurant Equipment Agencies, Segafredo, La San Marco:
Building and operating large number of Retail franchise stores led to a a natural evolvement into Importing, distributing and maintaining Restaurants and Bar equipment’s one of the Major brands was La San Marco a well renown Italian Café and Bar equipment’s a Division of Massimo Zannetti Beverage Group.
Segafredo:
Segafredo is the largest Italian coffee company and one of the very few which cover the whole spectrum of coffee business, from growing green coffee in their own fields until it is served in the cup. Segarfredo owns many companies in the coffee business. Among them is La San Marco one of the of the best and largest Coffee Machines makers in the world, and recently Segafredo acquired Puccino in the UK and Sara Lee Coffee Division in the USA.
2005 - Calerton Holding:
An investment vehicle specialized in income generating real estate with assets in the UK, USA, UAE and Egypt.
2007 - Dislon Securities LLC:
An investment Vehicle that invests in money market, bonds, startups and SME.
2008 - Popeyes, Carnivore, Tamarind, Orchid:
Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits is a chain of fried chicken fast food restaurants, owned since 1993 by the Atlanta-based AFC Enterprises (originally America’s Favorite Chicken Company). According to a company press release dated June 29, 2007, Popeyes is the second-largest “quick-service chicken restaurant group, measured by number of units”, with more than 1,800 restaurants in more than 40 states, the District of Colombia, Puerto Rico and 20 countries worldwide including Turkey, China, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Malaysia, South Africa, South Korea, Singapore, Canada, Jamaica, Mexico, Trinidad, Panama and now in Egypt.
Carnivore:
Carnivore is one of the best food experience in the world. The original Kenyan Carnivore has debuted more than 30 years ago after the founder visited Brazil and decided to Africanize the Churrascaria concept and they did it with great success.
